  • Nicole Poirier

    DVM

Dr. Nicole Poirier, DVM, is an Associate Veterinarian at Borash Veterinary Clinic! Dr. Poirier earned her Bachelor of Science from Saint Joseph’s College of Maine and earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. In addition to her education, Dr. Poirier completed an internship in small animal medicine, surgery, neurology, and emergency/critical care at VCA Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center and VCA Shoreline Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center. Her areas of professional interest include preventative care, surgery, internal medicine, and critical care. Dr. Poirier started working in the veterinary field in 2015 as a veterinary technician and started her career as a veterinarian in 2019 after graduating from veterinary school. Growing up, Dr. Poirier developed a passion for taking care animals and discovered how much she valued the human-animal bond, which led to her dream of becoming a veterinarian. According to Dr. Poirier, the best part of working in the veterinary field (other than puppies!) is building and maintaining strong relationships with pets and their owners. Originally from Wells, ME, Dr. Poirier now lives in Massachusetts with her 10-year-old, white long-haired chihuahua, a 12-year-old terrier mix that Dr. Poirier rescued from a house fire, and a golden retriever puppy. In her free time, Dr. Poirier enjoys spending time with her family and pets, going to the beach or out to dinner, traveling, weightlifting, and running.
